Financial Director – Maputo, Mozambique

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Director to lead our support services in Maputo. The role will oversee finance, accounting, human resources, and logistics for Nitidæ’s expanding portfolio of development projects across Mozambique.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement administrative, financial, HR, and logistics structures that comply with donor regulations.
• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations, budgeting, accounting, payroll, and procurement.
• Develop and maintain tools for tracking financial reports, audits, and project expenditures.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with Nitidæ headquarters in France, coordinating with the financial controller, HR manager, logistics manager, and CFO.
• Strengthen the capacity of the existing support team, providing training and mentorship.
• Collaborate with program teams and the Country Representative to ensure financial alignment with project objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance or accounting roles within NGOs or international development organizations.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance and financial reporting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary support teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English; French is a plus.
