Grants and Partnership Manager

About the role

AVSI, an international NGO operating in 41 countries, is seeking a dynamic Grants and Partnership Manager to join its Mozambique team. The role focuses on ensuring efficient management of the grants portfolio and fostering strong relationships with partners while complying with internal and donor policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full grant lifecycle from due diligence to execution, renewal, and close‑out.
• Draft, review, and track contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements.
• Monitor contract timelines, deliverables, reporting obligations and expiration dates.
• Maintain grantee and contractor records in financial systems and serve as the primary contact for onboarding and compliance verification.
• Oversee payment schedules, resolve discrepancies and guarantee timely disbursements.
• Reconcile grant payments monthly, support month‑end and year‑end close activities, and assist with audits.
• Develop standard reports on contract status, committed funds and expenditures, and coordinate internal audit processes.
• Provide financial analysis, budget forecasting and variance tracking related to contracts and grants.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in grant management, partnership coordination or related finance functions.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, reporting standards and contractual obligations.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• High level of integrity, transparency and accountability in line with AVSI’s Code of Ethics.

Required skills

• Proficiency in grant management and financial tracking systems.
• Ability to reconcile financial transactions and produce accurate coding.
• Experience preparing compliance reports and supporting audit activities.
