HR Officer – Mozambique

About the role

The HR Officer provides day‑to‑day HR administration, coordination and employee support for the EKN programme in Mozambique. Working closely with the Manager of People, Culture & Learning, the role ensures HR services are delivered efficiently, consistently and in line with organisational policies and local labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate employee records, contracts and HR documentation; support onboarding, off‑boarding and employee lifecycle changes.
• Coordinate recruitment administration, interview scheduling, reference checks and preparation of offers.
• Support HR compliance, employee relations cases, disciplinary processes and labour reporting.
• Prepare payroll inputs, maintain HR system data quality and generate routine HR reports.
• Assist with training coordination, employee engagement activities and wellness initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field; HR certification is a plus.
• 2–4 years of HR administration or generalist experience, including recruitment and payroll support.
• Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Experience in NGOs, INGOs or donor‑funded programmes preferred; experience in Mozambique or Zambia is advantageous.
