HSSE Officer – Health, Safety, Security & Environment

About the role

The HSSE Officer will support TotalEnergies' Mozambique affiliate in delivering safe, compliant and sustainable operations across strategic terminal sites. Reporting to the HSSE Director, you will be the daily point of contact for health, safety, security and environmental matters, helping operational teams maintain a strong HSSE culture.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSSE policies, standards and action plans to ensure full compliance with company rules and international regulations.
• Coordinate incident and accident investigations, analyse root causes and track corrective actions to completion.
• Oversee environmental monitoring activities (energy, water, waste, fuel) and support the deployment of environmental action plans.
• Assist operational teams with risk assessments, audits, emergency response planning and safety compliance.
• Deliver training and awareness programmes to employees, contractors and transporters, promoting a safety‑first mindset.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in industrial operations, preferably in oil & gas, chemical or related sectors.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HSSE standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in risk assessment and incident investigation.
• Ability to analyse data and produce clear reports.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
