Intern, Operations Support

About the role

The IFRC Maputo Country Cluster Delegation (CCD) for Mozambique and Angola is looking for an Intern, Operations Support to support the ongoing Emergency Appeal Floods DREF operation. The intern provides administrative assistance to the operations team and reports to the Programme & Operations Manager, IFRC Maputo CCD. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel within Mozambique, including to field locations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supporting documentation for operational activities is complete and accurate, covering payment process reviews, terms of reference for activities and correct attachments to payment requests
• Draft Travel Orders, Movement Orders and WADs, and collect and follow up on documents with National Society branches
• Travel to branches as needed and work with the Finance Team and other CCD technical colleagues
• Follow standard operational procedures, the Code of Conduct and humanitarian assistance principles

Required profile

• Final-year student, recent graduate or Bachelor's holder in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Data Analysis, Social Sciences or a related field
• Fluent spoken and written English and Portuguese
• Up to one year of relevant experience through internships, volunteering, student projects or part-time work in operations, administration, finance, logistics or programme support is desirable
• Preferred: experience with humanitarian, development or non-profit organisations, report writing, and familiarity with humanitarian emergency response standards

• Strong knowledge of Excel
• Ability to set up systems and procedures for reliable data collection and management
• Ability to work under pressure in emergency contexts, with good communication and attention to detail
• Basic digital content creation, digital safety and security, data literacy and problem solving with technology
