Machine Specialist – Plant Maintenance & Optimization

About the role

The Machine Specialist is responsible for maintaining, repairing and optimizing plant equipment to ensure high availability and product quality while controlling costs. You will work closely with shift‑based teams, providing coaching, mentoring and expert advice on machine operation and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and mentor shift teams on machine operation, standby support and expert troubleshooting.
• Act as functional expert for plant problem solving and support regional optimisation trials.
• Assist process artisans with fault finding, machine setups, restorations and the latest Standard Work Instructions (SWI).
• Participate in maintenance planning meetings, ensure backlog meets required hours and execute work during planned maintenance windows.
• Conduct ATO cleaning, lubrication, inspection and condition‑monitoring activities according to the maintenance schedule.
• Lead post‑mortem reviews, report findings and contribute to continuous‑improvement cycles (AB‑Report, SDCA, PDCA).
• Maintain a safe work environment and flag unsafe practices.
