Maintenance Planner / Asset Care Specialist

About the role

Weir Minerals is looking for a Maintenance Planner/Asset Care Planner to maximise equipment reliability and operational performance. You will ensure maintenance activities are efficiently planned, scheduled and executed, reducing downtime and supporting proactive asset‑care strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed maintenance plans, schedules, job packs and resource requirements for preventive, predictive and corrective work.
• Analyse equipment history, identify recurring failures and implement strategies that improve reliability and availability.
• Coordinate labour, materials, tools, contractors and spare parts to minimise production downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, KPIs and asset information while driving continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Balance planned versus unplanned work and perform general administrative duties.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with Maths and Science or equivalent qualification.
• Applicable trade qualification, preferably a Millwright.
• 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance planning, asset care, reliability or maintenance management within manufacturing, mining or industrial environments.
