Margin Accounting Accountant – Receivables

About the role

Vodafone is looking for a Margin Accounting Accountant to join its Finance team in Maputo. You will be responsible for accurate accounting of direct expenses, revenue recognition, and bad‑debt provisions in line with Vodafone Group Policy and IFRS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end financial processes for revenue and direct expenditures, ensuring accurate revenue and cost recognition.
• Calculate and review Expected Credit Loss (ECL) and Bad Debt provisions according to IFRS 9.
• Validate accounting entries, contract asset capitalization (IFRS 15), and related amortisation.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and clear reconciling items timely.
• Support inter‑company AR/AP accounting and provide commentary for P&L reviews with finance leadership.
• Handle cash receipt allocations, vendor payments, and ad‑hoc query resolution for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–5 years of finance experience, preferably in telecommunications.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS interpretation and practical application.
• Attention to detail, deadline orientation, and high integrity.
