Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor – Nutrition (Maputo)

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor – Nutrition to support the EpiC MNCH+N project in Mozambique. Based in Maputo and seconded to the Ministry of Health, the advisor will provide strategic M&E guidance for nutrition activities across Nampula and Zambezia provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Support adaptation of tools for monitoring nutrition output indicators.
• Abstract nutrition indicators from the Ministry of Health’s PRISM databases and enter data into the PULSE system.
• Ensure nutrition data quality and support continuous quality improvement within the nutrition department.
• Collaborate with MOH nutrition partners, service providers, and local stakeholders to align M&E activities with Department of State and MOH reporting requirements.
• Conduct routine monitoring visits, perform data quality assessments using MISAU tools, and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Represent the EpiC project in MISAU strategic information and nutrition technical working groups.
• Implement capacity‑building strategies for partners, government representatives, and other stakeholders in M&E, data management, analysis, and data use.
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely submission of nutrition data and reports to MISAU, including maternal, infant, and young child nutrition, wasting management, and community‑based nutrition services.

Required profile

• Qualified Mozambican national.

Required skills

• Experience with PRISM standard databases.
• Proficiency in the PULSE data entry system.
• Strong knowledge of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) methodology.
• Ability to conduct data quality assessments using MISAU tools.
• Capacity‑building and training experience for partners and government staff.
