National IT Consultant – Systems Analyst (Maputo)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a National IT Consultant to act as a Systems Analyst for its Maputo office. The consultant will support the design, testing and deployment of enhancements, integrations and digital reporting solutions that underpin UNICEF’s mission‑critical information systems.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business and functional requirements and translate them into system specifications.
• Design and model solutions using Enterprise Architect, UML, BPMN and use‑case diagrams.
• Perform systems integration analysis, testing, quality assurance and support deployment.
• Develop reports, dashboards and digital solutions, ensuring proper documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and manage acceptance criteria and deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering at least one enterprise‑grade, mission‑critical information system with high availability and fault tolerance.
• Strong experience with Java‑based systems, Oracle or PostgreSQL databases, and enterprise modelling tools.
• Excellent written and spoken Portuguese.

Required skills

• Java development.
• Enterprise Architect or equivalent modelling tool.
• UML, BPMN, use‑case and sequence diagram modelling.
• Oracle and PostgreSQL database expertise.
• Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall project management.
• OCUP 2 (OMG Certified UML Professional) certification.
• Microsoft, Oracle or AWS certifications in systems analysis and integration.
