National IT Consultant – Systems Analyst (Maputo)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a National IT Consultant to lead the analysis, design, testing and implementation of system enhancements, integrations, reports and digital solutions for its operations in Mozambique. The consultant will work on‑site in Maputo, collaborating with technical and program teams to ensure high‑quality, mission‑critical IT outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct requirements analysis, functional design and systems integration analysis.
• Develop and validate test plans, perform quality assurance and support user acceptance testing.
• Create reporting specifications, dashboards and digital solution prototypes.
• Provide implementation and deployment support, including documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with program needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering at least one enterprise‑grade, mission‑critical information system with high availability and fault tolerance.
• Demonstrated experience with Java‑based systems, data modeling, UML, BPMN and use‑case design.
• Strong communication skills in Portuguese.

• Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
• Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall
• OCUP 2 certification
• Microsoft and AWS certifications (preferred)
