NDT QA/QC Specialist

About the role

The NDT QA/QC Specialist will act as the technical reference for Non‑Destructive Testing within the site QA/QC team of a global multi‑energy company. Reporting to the NDT QA/QC Lead, you will ensure that all NDT activities performed by contractors and subcontractors comply with project specifications, codes and international quality standards, supporting safe and compliant facility delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor and subcontractor NDT quality plans, ITPs, procedures and technique sheets for compliance.
• Perform daily field surveillance of NDT activities and verify implementation of procedures on site.
• Witness NDT operator qualification examinations and confirm personnel status.
• Review and interpret NDT examination results (radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, penetrant, visual).
• Verify traceability of consumables, equipment calibration records and certifications.
• Support resolution of NDT‑related technical queries and NCRs, including root‑cause analysis.
• Coordinate sequencing, hold and witness points with site NDT and welding QA/QC specialists.
• Participate in site‑level NDT audits and contribute to KPI reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical or NDT Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years NDT QA/QC experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or specialist role in oil & gas.
• ISO 9712 or ASNT Level II certification in at least two techniques (RT, UT, MT, PT) – RT and UT preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with advanced methods such as PAUT, TOFD and AUT.
• Experience on large‑scale oil & gas or LNG projects.
• Welding Inspector qualification (CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, IWT or IWI‑S) is an asset.
• Radiation safety knowledge.
