Operations Supervisor – Cranes

About the role

The Operations Supervisor for the Cranes Division will lead and coordinate all heavy‑lift, materials‑handling and special transport activities across Mozambique and neighbouring countries. You will ensure that every operation meets the highest safety, quality and contractual standards while supporting the company’s growth in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and supervise lifting, cargo transport and materials‑handling projects for the Cranes Division.
• Manage multicultural technical and operational teams in Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania.
• Develop and approve lift plans, method statements and risk assessments in line with HSSEQ policies.
• Monitor compliance with client contracts, local regulations and international standards such as LOLER and ASME B30.
• Coordinate equipment mobilisation, including mobile cranes, crawler cranes and SPMTs, ensuring optimal utilisation.
• Maintain accurate operational records and report performance metrics to senior management.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience in crane operations, heavy‑lift or project cargo handling.
• Proven ability to lead multinational teams in complex projects (e.g., LNG, mining, hydro‑electric).
• Technical or higher education in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Logistics, Operations Management or a related field (preferred).
• Valid Mobile Crane Operator, Lifting Supervisor and Rigging/Signalling certifications (preferred).
• Occupational health and safety training (NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent).
• Fluent in Portuguese and English; French is a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence, passport and willingness to travel frequently.
