Piping Valve Vessel Supervisor - Mozambique LNG

About the role

A global multi-energy company operating large-scale refining and petrochemical facilities is hiring a Piping Valve Vessel Supervisor for its Mozambique LNG project, a strategic project with onshore facilities including two LNG trains, LNG and condensate storage, marine facilities, utilities and early site infrastructure. The supervisor reports to the Field Engineering & Supervision Manager and works in a transverse mode with the package superintendent.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities within a specified area in close collaboration with the EPC contractor, covering HSE, quality, schedule and cost objectives.
• Coordinate with other departments so that work is delivered safely and on time, and inspire safety commitment among clients, contractors and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and that construction follows project specifications for methods, safety, quality and schedule.
• Manage site works carried out by the contractor and its approved subcontractors in line with the contract agreement.
• Prepare, coordinate and monitor construction activities up to subsystem handover to the commissioning team, and verify progress reporting per discipline.
• Take part in quality surveillance programmes, inspect works against approved ITPs, and support the development of execution plans and method statements.
• Support the superintendent in resolving technical issues and take part in construction planning meetings.
• Maintain a strong physical presence at site, report immediately on technical or coordination issues, risks and HSE incidents, and help gather lessons learned.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in a related discipline and/or oil and gas construction projects.
• Minimum of 10 years of practical experience in piping vessel oil and gas industrial plants, with good knowledge of relevant specifications, technical codes and standards.
• Solid knowledge of project execution best practices on projects of similar size.
• Strong HSE culture, safety leadership and effective communication and leadership skills.
• Good interpersonal communication in an international environment and strong written and spoken English; Portuguese or French is an advantage.
