About the role
Palladium is seeking a Private Sector Engagement Specialist to lead partnership development with private companies operating in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. The role supports USAID/BHA’s Market‑Based Approaches for Sustainable Livelihoods project, aiming to transition IDP and returnee households from food assistance to sustainable, market‑linked agriculture.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, map and negotiate partnerships with leading private sector firms active in Cabo Delgado.
- Design and implement shared‑value partnership strategies that integrate smallholder farmers into productive value chains, especially cashew.
- Support the creation of smallholder‑inclusive business models and environmental sustainability plans for private partners.
- Coordinate commercial R&D needs, linking private sector demand with research partners to develop new inclusive value chains.
- Monitor partnership performance, track impact on livelihoods and report results to the project team.
Required profile
- Proven experience in private‑sector partnership development, preferably within agricultural or humanitarian contexts.
- Strong understanding of value‑chain dynamics and smallholder integration.
- Ability to negotiate and manage multi‑stakeholder agreements.
- Experience working with international development projects or NGOs is an asset.
