Procurement and Inventory Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement & Inventory Manager for a growing mining operation in Nampula Province, Mozambique. This on‑site position works on a 10‑weeks‑on / 3‑weeks‑off rotation and combines purchasing with hands‑on mechanical knowledge to ensure the right parts are bought the first time.

Key responsibilities

• Source, negotiate and purchase mechanical spares, plant equipment, tools, consumables and operational supplies.
• Maintain warehouse operations, SKU coding, bin locations, min/max stock levels, cycle counts and stock reconciliation.
• Cross‑reference OEM and aftermarket part numbers, verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers or micrometers.
• Prepare RFPs, evaluate quotations and manage vendor relationships locally, regionally and internationally.
• Oversee imports, freight forwarding and customs clearance processes.
• Lead a small buying and warehouse team, ensuring compliance with mining‑specific inventory standards.

Required profile

• Strong background in heavy earth‑moving equipment, plant and light vehicles.
• Proven experience purchasing mechanical spares and managing critical‑spare inventories.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a remote mining environment with a rotational schedule.
• Bilingual fluency in Portuguese and English.
