Project Assistant – Nampula, Mozambique

About the role

The Project Assistant will support the implementation of the MUAVULUXE maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) project in Nacala Porto and Ilha de Moçambique districts. Based in Nampula, the role involves frequent travel to project sites and close collaboration with consortium partners, district health authorities and community structures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide field‑level support for project activities, focusing on strengthening policy dialogue and community health data use.
• Reactivate and facilitate multisectoral district‑level forums.
• Support participatory action groups to enhance community participation in health governance.
• Assist in the collection, analysis and dissemination of health data for decision‑making.
• Coordinate with partners (EHALE, ELOS, FAMED/UEM) to ensure alignment of activities.

Required profile

• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project communities (approximately 60% fieldwork).
• Experience or interest in community health or development projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners, health authorities and community members.
