Project Director – Strategic Infrastructure Planning

About the role

SEGULA Technologies seeks a senior Project Director to lead the strategic planning and execution of large‑scale waste treatment, effluent, and landfill infrastructure. The role combines long‑term roadmap development with hands‑on delivery of capital projects, ensuring alignment with ESG goals and growth targets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain long‑term infrastructure strategies, roadmaps, capacity assessments and feasibility studies for treatment and landfill facilities.
• Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects – from feasibility, permitting and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness – on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee plant performance, uptime, efficiency and preventative maintenance for Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) and landfills.
• Secure and maintain all required environmental licences, lead regulatory interfaces, manage audits and resolve environmental incidents.
• Develop asset lifecycle strategies, maintain registers, monitor depreciation and lead refurbishment programmes to minimise total cost of ownership.
• Drive innovation by assessing new waste streams, leading pilot studies and adapting technologies to support commercial growth.
• Control CAPEX and OPEX budgets, track ROI and ensure delivery of expected EBITDA margins.
• Build, mentor and lead a multidisciplinary team while fostering a strong safety and innovation culture.

Required profile

• BSc or BEng in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or Civil Engineering; Master’s degree or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
• 10–15 years of experience in waste treatment operations, technical project delivery or industrial infrastructure development.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proven track record managing multi‑site facilities, ETPs, landfills and hazardous waste handling.
• Hands‑on experience leading complex capital projects from concept to commissioning and driving ESG initiatives.
