Project Manager – Agriculture, Blue Economy & Rural Development

About the role

The European Union Delegation in Maputo seeks a Project Manager to lead initiatives across agriculture, blue economy value chains, rural development and Green Deal‑related areas. You will work under the Head of Section for Resilience and Climate Change, supporting the Delegation’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor projects in fisheries, aquaculture, agriculture, rural development and forestry, ensuring alignment with the Global Gateway strategy.
• Conduct field visits, participate in steering committees, analyse narrative reports and represent the EU at meetings and events.
• Process payment orders, review financial reports and ensure proper administrative handling.
• Collect, analyse and disseminate sector information; prepare discussion papers and technical notes.
• Engage in policy dialogue and coordination meetings with Blue Economy partners in Mozambique.
• Contribute to internal EU reporting systems (EAMR, Results Report, RMF, etc.) and support the identification and appraisal of new projects.
• Provide assistance to other sections or operational sectors as needed.

Required profile

• University degree (minimum 3 years) in Agronomy, Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Environment or Natural Resources.
• At least 7 years of professional experience managing cooperation projects in agriculture, aquaculture, natural resources or environmental sectors.
