Public Policy Manager

About the role

Yango is seeking a Public Policy Manager to lead its public policy agenda across Portuguese‑speaking African markets. The role will shape and execute policy strategies that support the company’s growth and ensure a favourable regulatory environment for its digital platforms and mobility services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive public policy strategy aligned with business priorities, anticipating regulatory developments.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with government officials, regulatory agencies, industry associations and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor political, regulatory and legislative trends across the region and produce concise, actionable analysis for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with internal teams – Legal, PR, Operations, Marketing – to integrate government‑relations efforts with overall company strategy.
• Represent Yango in engagements with government bodies, industry forums and multi‑stakeholder platforms, fostering alliances that promote a fair regulatory framework.
• Prepare stakeholder briefings, regular updates and crisis‑management plans, leading government engagement during regulatory incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in government relations, public policy or regulatory affairs.
• Full professional fluency in Portuguese and English.
• Strong analytical ability to translate complex regulatory issues into clear recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel periodically across the region.
