Resettlement Livelihoods Supervisor – Rural Development Lead

About the role
The Resettlement Livelihoods Supervisor will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for restoring and enhancing agricultural, fisheries, and diversified livelihoods for households affected by large‑scale resettlement projects. Reporting to the Land Access Programs Manager and the VP of Socio‑economic Development, the role ensures effective coordination with implementation partners, government agencies, and local communities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the resettlement livelihoods team and oversee all implementation partners delivering livelihood programs.
- Develop, negotiate, and update Statements of Work (SOWs) for contracting partners.
- Design implementation schedules, budgets, and monitoring frameworks for livelihood re‑establishment activities.
- Assess household progress, rank households, and justify any changes in ranking.
- Manage contracts, large budgets, and ensure technical and financial compliance.
- Facilitate performance reviews, audits, and act as the primary liaison among partners, government, affected households, and the wider community.
Required profile
- Degree in Rural Development, Economics, Sociology or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience implementing livelihood re‑establishment programs in rural, large‑scale resettlement contexts.
- Proven track record in contract and large‑budget management, including technical and financial monitoring.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
- Adaptive leadership with experience in community facilitation, conflict resolution, and risk assessment.
