School Director – Cambridge International School

About the role

The Cambridge International School is seeking an experienced School Director to lead its campus in Beira, Mozambique. Reporting to the Board, the Director will shape the school’s strategic direction, uphold academic excellence and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the school’s strategic vision, improvement plans and long‑term development goals.
• Drive a culture of academic excellence, innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Monitor school performance using data to guide strategic decision‑making.
• Lead the delivery and development of the Cambridge International Curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and student achievement.
• Oversee curriculum policies to meet Cambridge International requirements.
• Promote student‑centred learning, effective use of educational technology and collaborative professional practice.
• Recruit, develop, motivate and retain high‑performing academic and support staff, establishing performance management and professional development systems.
• Foster a positive, inclusive school culture and plan for leadership succession.
• Ensure student wellbeing, safety and safeguarding are central to all operations.

Required profile

• Significant senior leadership experience in an international school setting.
• Proven track record of strategic planning and school development.
• Deep understanding of the Cambridge International Curriculum and its assessment frameworks.
• Strong commitment to student welfare and safeguarding policies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
