Senior Contract Engineer

About the role

The Senior Contract Engineer will support the Mozambique LNG project for a global multi‑energy company. You will work closely with the DUET team to develop contracting strategies, manage tender processes, and ensure effective contract administration across complex industrial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop contracting strategies and issue calls for tenders to secure qualified expertise.
• Negotiate and analyse commercial bids, prepare Recommendations To Award (RTA), and present them to the Contracts Committee.
• Maintain and update the contract management tool, ensuring accurate records of contracts, suppliers, and qualified contractors.
• Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, manage insurance matters, and oversee claim and lawsuit settlements in coordination with legal, finance, and insurance teams.
• Conduct market studies, maintain an up‑to‑date list of potential suppliers, and participate in contract renewals and amendments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) with 10‑15 years of experience in contracts and procurement, including at least 2 years in technical contracts.
• Strong understanding of operational activities in refining or petrochemical environments.
• Advanced management, human‑relations, problem‑solving, and planning abilities.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work across multiple business functions.

• Advanced competency with contract and procurement (C&P) tools.
• Proficiency in developing and managing complex contracting strategies.
