Senior Purchaser (Logistics) – Oil & Gas

About the role

A multinational company in the Oil & Gas sector is hiring a Senior Purchaser (Logistics) in Maputo, Mozambique. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role covers the full source-to-contract process for goods, services and technical assistance services (TAS), including sourcing, tendering, contract administration and supplier management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tender documentation and tender evaluation procedures, and issue contracts and service/purchase orders after liaising with technical teams
• Evaluate technical and commercial proposals, administer the recommendation to award report and take part in the contract committee
• Manage the pre-contract phase, including unsuccessful tenderer notifications and storage of tender documentation
• Analyze purchase requisitions, propose bidder lists, study and compare offers, and lead negotiations with suppliers
• Issue RTAs, confirm receipt of purchase orders, ensure on-time delivery and handle amendments to contracts
• Maintain the supplier database and enter purchasing data in SAP / Unisol
• Ensure compliance with internal rules, the Code of Conduct, TEPMA1 general terms and conditions, and audit requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent certification
• 6 to 7 years of professional experience, minimum 2 years in technical contracts, with exposure to operations
• Mozambican nationality; living in the local area is an advantage
• Advanced negotiation skills, customer-oriented, good command of written and spoken English
• Ability to work under pressure, in a multicultural, cross-functional environment, with team spirit

Required skills

• C&P tools advanced certification
• Intermediate technical purchasing skills; basic to intermediate other technical competencies recommended
• Knowledge of SAP and stock management
• Management, human relations, problem solving and planning skills
