Senior Reliability Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Reliability Engineer at Sasol, you will ensure the reliability, integrity and safety of upstream and midstream assets in the oil and gas sector. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop maintenance strategies, conduct assessments and drive continuous improvement across equipment and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and optimise reliability engineering strategies for upstream and midstream assets.
• Apply techniques such as FMEA, RCA and RCM to analyse historical performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with works management to align maintenance activities with operational priorities and minimise production impact.
• Coordinate integrity assessments with inspector teams, including corrosion monitoring and fitness‑for‑service evaluations.
• Facilitate cross‑functional communication between reliability, works and integrity management teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in reliability engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret reliability metrics and drive improvement initiatives.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with operations, maintenance and quality assurance teams.
