Technical Officer – Laboratory Systems (WASH)

About the role

The Technical Officer – Laboratory Systems (WASH) provides technical and administrative support for research and implementation projects focused on water, sanitation and hygiene. Working under senior technical leadership, the officer drafts and finalizes technical sections of proposals, supports project design, and assists with data collection and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate tools, materials, reports and papers for research projects.
• Assist with publications, web pages, presentations and literature searches.
• Monitor and maintain protocols, instruments, data sets, manuals and training materials.
• Write technical briefs, reports and other documents to support best practices and policies.
• Implement established project designs, track indicators and produce progress reports.
• Draft technical portions of proposals and collect data for proposal development.
• Collect financial and technical tracking data and coordinate procurement terms of reference.
• Support quality assurance by documenting processes and ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., health, environment, social sciences).
• At least 4 years of experience managing data collection, technical assistance, and project implementation in an NGO, government agency or private company.
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and adhere to standard operating procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using database management software and online search tools.
