Well Services & Integrity Artisan

About the role

The Well Services & Integrity Artisan is responsible for day‑to‑day well services and integrity activities across the production life‑cycle. Reporting to the Well Services Supervisor, the role ensures safety, reliability and compliance of well equipment at the Temane site.

Key responsibilities

• Support the safety and continued integrity of all wells throughout their production life‑cycle.
• Conduct bi‑annual function testing and annual well integrity testing of well architecture.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning well equipment such as TR‑SCSSVs, SSVs, chokes, gate valves and well instrumentation.
• Operate wellhead and production tree equipment on request and act as focal point for third‑party service providers.
• Assist with well interventions including slick line, annulus top‑up and well testing activities.
• Maintain and operate high‑pressure, low‑volume, high‑volume and low‑pressure pumps, ensuring certification.
• Collect well data, prepare daily operation reports and participate in shift handovers.
• Perform visual inspections of well sites, attend emergency response exercises and respond to well alarms.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science, a school diploma or NQF Level 4 in Mechanical studies.
• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in well services or well integrity operations.

Required skills

• Wellhead and production tree operation.
• High‑pressure pump operation and maintenance.
• Well integrity testing (function and annual testing).
• Troubleshooting of TR‑SCSSVs, SSVs, chokes and gate valves.
• Data collection, reporting and use of measuring devices (gas detectors, pressure gauges).
• Vehicle and equipment inspection, maintenance and calibration.
