Care and Treatment Lead

About the role

The Care and Treatment Lead will provide technical direction for a CDC‑funded HIV project in Mozambique, supporting the Government’s goal of epidemic control by 2030. This five‑year initiative focuses on achieving 95% treatment coverage and viral suppression across all population groups.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical oversight and strategic planning for HIV/TB interventions targeting high‑risk groups such as children of HIV‑positive adults, adolescents, pregnant women, migrant workers, and key populations.
• Provide technical assistance for HIV testing services, same‑day ART initiation, retention in care, differentiated service delivery, multi‑month ARV dispensing, and viral load monitoring.
• Guide implementation of pediatric ARV optimization, elimination of mother‑to‑child transmission, cervical cancer screening for HIV‑positive women, and TB prevention and treatment.
• Integrate additional interventions such as VMMC, PrEP, index testing, HIV self‑testing, and recency testing within the COVID‑19 context.
• Develop and review evidence‑based clinical materials, performance tools, and supervisory systems to support rapid scale‑up.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in HIV and TB program implementation and management.
• Strong knowledge of CDC guidelines and Mozambique Ministry of Health priorities.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and provide technical assistance.
• Commitment to working in Mozambique and collaborating with local partners.
