Field Construction Superintendent – Utilities

About the role

The Field Construction Superintendent – Utilities will lead safety‑focused construction activities for the Mozambique LNG project. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will oversee pipeline and utility works from execution through handover to commissioning, ensuring compliance with HSE standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead by example to embed a strong safety culture across client and EPC contractor teams.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Support the Area Manager with delegated responsibilities for the Pipeline and Utilities team.
• Monitor construction activities, review progress, and report incidents promptly.
• Develop and review execution plans, method statements, and related procedures.
• Maintain a visible onsite presence to oversee quality, safety, and construction performance.
• Identify schedule deviations, risks, and propose mitigation measures.
• Assess technical and organizational issues, integrating lessons learned and best practices.
• Oversee all phases of execution, including pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and SIMOPS.
• Coordinate with the quality department to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven leadership in large‑scale construction environments, preferably in oil & gas or LNG projects.
• Strong understanding of HSE principles and ability to enforce them on site.
• Experience collaborating with EPC contractors and managing subcontractor performance.
• Ability to communicate incidents and risks clearly and promptly.
• Track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
