NDT QA/QC Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced NDT QA/QC Lead to join a major on‑shore LNG construction project in Afungi, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. This senior, site‑based position provides technical authority for all non‑destructive testing activities throughout the construction phase.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and approve contractor NDT quality plans, ITPs, procedures, and technique sheets.
• Oversee NDT activities including RT, UT, PAUT, TOFD, AUT, MT, PT, and VT.
• Verify and authorize NDT personnel qualifications per ASNT or ISO 9712 standards.
• Review and approve NDT examination results and radiographic/digital interpretations.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety, source security, dosimetry, and controlled‑area management.
• Manage NDT‑related NCRs, root‑cause investigations, and corrective actions.
• Monitor and report NDT KPIs such as examination coverage, repair rates, and inspection performance.
• Coordinate NDT schedules to support construction and commissioning milestones.
• Conduct competency assessments and support training initiatives for NDT personnel.
• Manage NDT equipment, consumables, and certification traceability systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, NDT Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of NDT QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas, LNG or large industrial construction.
• At least 8 years in a lead, supervisory or management NDT role.
• ASNT Level III certification in RT and UT (or equivalent ISO 9712 Level III).
• Radiation Protection Officer or equivalent radiation safety qualification.
• Fluent English; Portuguese and/or French advantageous.
