Offshore Field Engineer – S‑lay Pipelay Vessel

About the role

The Offshore Field Engineer will work on an S‑lay pipelay vessel supporting the Mozambique LNG project. Reporting to the Vessel Lead/CSR, you will be on‑site offshore, rotating shifts, and will assist in the technical appraisal, supervision and execution of multiple rigid pipeline installations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee the contractor’s completion process for SW and DW pipelay scopes.
• Provide installation engineering support, interfacing with CTR engineering, operations, HSE and QA/QC teams.
• Participate in technical reviews, HAZID, SIMOPS and Change Management activities.
• Conduct risk assessments, ensure mitigation measures are applied, and capture deviations via MoC procedures.
• Supply verified data to reporting systems and help mitigate potential change orders.
• Witness offshore installation activities, ensuring compliance with CPY requirements and safety protocols.
• Report technical issues to the Vessel Lead and Installation Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in offshore pipeline installation and S‑lay operations.
• Ability to work rotating offshore shifts and adapt to a high‑performance industrial environment.
• Strong technical appraisal and supervision skills.
• Familiarity with EPCI contractor processes and offshore risk management.
