Program Director, Mozambique GV4G Program

About the role

The Programme Director will lead the implementation and coordination of the €54 million Green Value for Growth (GV4G) programme in Mozambique. Reporting to the consortium leadership, the role ensures alignment, governance and operational efficiency across partners, value‑chain teams and geographic implementation areas.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate overall programme implementation from inception to close‑out, guaranteeing achievement of objectives, contractual deliverables and donor compliance.
• Facilitate adaptive management, enabling teams to respond to market, political, environmental and operational changes.
• Oversee integrated annual work planning, budgeting, implementation tracking and reporting across all consortium partners.
• Ensure seamless coordination between technical teams and support functions such as finance, procurement, grants, MERL, compliance and operations.
• Identify and resolve implementation bottlenecks, operational dependencies and cross‑functional risks.
• Promote programme‑wide learning, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Lead consortium governance structures, including the Programme Management Team, Senior Management Team and Consortium Leadership Committee.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing large, multi‑partner development programmes, preferably in agribusiness or climate‑resilient value chains.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance requirements and EU market standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and facilitate collective decision‑making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Capacity to work in a distributed governance environment and travel within Mozambique as needed.
