Business Manager – Industries & Environment

About the role

SGS Mozambique is seeking a Business Manager for its Industries & Environment (I&E) division, based in Maputo. Reporting to the Country Managing Director, you will lead the development and management of I&E business operations across Energy, Mining, and other industrial sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Own full P&L responsibility, develop annual business plans, monitor financial performance and drive margin improvement.
• Oversee delivery of inspection, supervision, EHS, QA/QC, and I&E services, ensuring contracts are completed on time, within budget and to SGS quality standards.
• Collaborate with local and global sales teams to identify opportunities, support tender preparation, and define technical and operational solutions.
• Expand SGS presence in Energy, Mining, Infrastructure and Industrial sectors and increase share‑of‑wallet with existing accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, regulators and partners, acting as the primary escalation point for major contracts.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing business operations and P&L in industrial or environmental services.
• Strong track record in business development and contract delivery within Energy, Mining or related sectors.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to work closely with sales teams.
