Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Mozambique

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function for a manufacturing and distribution company operating in Mozambique. The successful candidate will shape financial strategy, support growth initiatives and ensure robust financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Oversee balance‑sheet closures, treasury management and internal control strengthening.
• Lead fund‑raising activities, prepare feasibility studies, pitch decks and conduct due‑diligence.
• Manage direct and indirect taxation, transfer pricing and compliance with local regulations.
• Coordinate stakeholder management with banks, financial institutions and internal teams.
• Produce detailed MIS for senior management and supervise commercial finance operations.
• Implement SOPs and drive ERP utilization (SAP, Oracle, Navision or similar).

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualification.
• 15+ years of finance experience, including at least 5 years in senior finance leadership (CFO, Head of Finance or Finance Controller) within manufacturing and distribution.
• International exposure, preferably with experience in Africa.
• Strong commercial mindset, detail‑oriented and stable career progression.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Navision.
• Experience in fund‑raising, financial modelling and due‑diligence processes.
• Knowledge of taxation, transfer pricing and local financial regulations.
