Contracts and Procurement Lead – Drilling Wells (Resident, Maputo)

About the role

The C&P Drilling Lead is based in Maputo and leads and organizes the Drilling Wells and Logistics activities of the Contracts and Procurement entity. The role supervises partner entities, optimizes costs through market intelligence and supplier evaluation, and manages a team of about one person. It also covers budget management for studies of USD 1–3 million and oversight of activities worth USD 30–500 million, including well blowout risk.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and control the Contracts and Procurement function daily and assist partner entities with all its activities
• Supervise strategies submitted to Contracts Committees so they are appropriate, transparent and justified
• Lead cost optimization using market intelligence, supplier qualification, cost models and target prices
• Lead Duet/Triplet meetings with partners and technical managers and coordinate the workload across the team
• Manage the Drilling Wells Contracts and Procurement team, maintain the competency level and involve CATMAN in relevant activities
• Anticipate partner needs through procurement planning and supervise the establishment of technical contracts
• Receive and distribute Purchase Requisitions, validate contractual documents and keep the supplier database current
• Carry out selective contractual audits, intervene in dispute settlements with Legal, Insurance and Finance, and define and monitor KPIs
• Keep local content in contract templates up to date, provide global reporting to C&P Management and manage budgets and strategies

Required profile

• Level 7 qualification (Master's degree or equivalent)
• 10-15 years of experience, with excellent knowledge of supply chain
• International experience and understanding of project management, exploration, drilling, engineering and field operations
• Fluency in English and advanced certification in C&P tools
