About the role

The Counter Poaching Unit Assistant Coordinator supports the CPU team in delivering effective anti‑poaching operations within Zinave National Park. Reporting to the CPU Coordinator, the role blends field‑based law‑enforcement support with administrative oversight to protect wildlife and ensure the park’s security strategy is executed efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and support the CPU Coordinator with day‑to‑day operations of the ZNP Protection Unit, including asset and equipment management.
• Help plan, execute and finalise law‑enforcement strategies and anti‑poaching activities in coordination with the head ranger and regional rangers.
• Ensure accurate reporting, data entry and administrative follow‑up using the technology tools provided.
• Monitor and maintain equipment inventories, vehicle logs and field supplies.
• Contribute to team communication and collaboration to achieve project goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in conservation‑focused law enforcement or anti‑poaching operations, preferably in Southern Africa.
• Ability to work under pressure in remote, field‑based environments.
• Strong organisational and detail‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Commitment to environmental sustainability and wildlife protection.
