Country Director – Mozambique

About the role

SolidarMed seeks a dynamic, energetic, and well‑connected Country Director to lead its Mozambique operations. The role involves strategic leadership, programme oversight, and close collaboration with the Ministry of Health to strengthen health systems and improve outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a high‑quality country strategic plan aligned with local context and global priorities.
• Lead recruitment, orientation, performance management and talent development of the country team.
• Drive funding acquisition and local resource mobilisation to meet annual portfolio targets.
• Ensure programme quality, timely monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
• Coordinate with national and international partners, donors, technical workgroups and explore new collaborations.
• Optimise financial, human and physical resources to achieve strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Proven track record in senior leadership within public health or humanitarian settings.
• Strong understanding of public health systems, emergency response and locally led development.
• Excellent ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working with ministries of health and coordinating multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
