Country Director – Mozambique

About the role

The Country Director will lead the Clinton Health Access Initiative’s (CHAI) health program in Mozambique, overseeing both strategic design and day‑to‑day execution. Reporting to senior leadership, the role will shape the long‑term vision for CHAI Mozambique, build high‑level partnerships and ensure lasting impact on the country’s health system.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement CHAI’s program strategy in Mozambique, aligning with global objectives.
• Lead a complex portfolio of health projects covering infectious diseases, non‑communicable diseases, health financing and digital health.
• Establish and nurture relationships with government ministries, donors, regional partners and other stakeholders.
• Represent CHAI publicly, advocating for sustainable, government‑led health solutions.
• Manage and mentor the country team, ensuring high performance and accountability.
• Monitor program performance, report results and adapt approaches to maximize impact.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in global health or related development sectors.
• Strong track record of working with governments, donors and multilateral partners.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent problem‑solving and communication abilities.
