Depot Financial Manager (Mozambique)

About the role

The Depot Financial Manager is a mid‑level position within the Finance & Accounts Department, responsible for record‑to‑report, financial analysis and compliance to ensure the organisation's financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports and budgets.
• Record financial transactions in line with accounting standards and ensure timely posting.
• Reconcile accounts, review general‑ledger entries and resolve discrepancies to produce accurate trial balances.
• Support business units with financial planning, forecasting and budget tracking.
• Perform variance analysis and recommend improvements.
• Assist internal and external audit processes.
• Maintain all financial records and documentation.
• Manage and coordinate the depot finance team, including cash handling, banking and reconciliations.
• Oversee stock handling procedures, physical verifications and monitor stock movements.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives within Finance & Accounts.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities according to group timelines.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, internal policies and tax obligations.
• Stay updated on changes to accounting standards and financial regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with IFRS and international accounting standards.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial software.
