Emergency Response Coordinator (M/F)

About the role

The Emergency Response Coordinator will lead safety and emergency preparedness activities for a leading oil and gas company operating in Mozambique. Reporting to senior managers, the role ensures compliance with company policies, local legislation, and best‑practice emergency response standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspire safety commitment across client, contractor and subcontractor teams through HSE leadership.
• Act as the primary coordinator during emergency incidents, drills and exercises.
• Develop, implement and maintain emergency response (ER) systems, documentation and training material.
• Review contractor documentation for compliance and provide feedback.
• Monitor the effectiveness of ER plans, identify improvement opportunities and oversee post‑incident reviews.
• Maintain ER duty rosters, training records and competency registers.
• Facilitate audits, inspections and investigations related to emergency response.
• Support business continuity and incident management planning.
• Ensure operational readiness of all emergency response equipment, including aviation and firefighting assets.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, safety management).
• Minimum five years of experience in emergency response, HSE or related roles.
• Training in Incident Command System (ICS 200) or GOC 3 certification.

Required skills

• ICS 200 (Incident Command System) training.
• GOC 3 certification.
• Strong knowledge of emergency response planning and HSE regulations.
• Experience with fire‑fighting team management and aviation safety support.
