Emergency Response Coordinator (M/F) – Oil & Gas

About the role

The Emergency Response Coordinator will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of emergency response (ER) systems for a leading oil and gas company operating in Mozambique. The role ensures compliance with company policies, local legislation and promotes a strong safety culture across all contractors and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the emergency response coordinator during incidents, exercises and drills, ensuring effective response and documentation.
• Develop, implement and maintain ER systems, procedures, duty rosters and training materials.
• Review contractor documentation for compliance with company standards and provide feedback.
• Monitor the effectiveness of ER plans, identify improvement opportunities and support audits, inspections and investigations.
• Deliver training and exercises for emergency response teams and oversee firefighting team activities.
• Maintain operational readiness of all emergency response equipment and ensure safety at site helipads and air operations.
• Collaborate with the CM/ER Manager to sustain business continuity and incident management plans.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in emergency response or a related discipline.
• Strong written and verbal English skills; fluency in Portuguese or French is advantageous.

Required skills

• ICS 200 certification.
• GOC 3 certification.
• IMS100, IMS200 and IMS30 certifications.
