External Auditor for Oxfam Mozambique Flood Project

About the role

Oxfam Mozambique is seeking an external auditor to conduct an audit of the Mozambique Flood JR 2026 project. The audit will cover the Head Office, Country Office and partner cost centres for the period 10 February – 9 August 2026, with field work scheduled from 17 September to 15 October 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA) to express an opinion on the financial statements.
• Verify that financial statements comply with accepted accounting principles, Oxfam’s manual, and statutory requirements.
• Assess internal controls, risk management processes and confirm that funds were used for their intended purposes.
• Review supporting documentation for expenditures, budgetary procedures, personnel costs, consultant contracts, procurement, expense control and staff advances.
• Prepare an audit report and a Management Letter summarizing observations, deficiencies and recommendations.

Required profile

• Professional auditor with experience applying ISA standards and exercising due professional care.
• Familiarity with financial management of NGOs and compliance with local Mozambican regulations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA2002, ISA800/805).
• Ability to analyse financial statements, internal controls and risk management processes.
