Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

The Information Extraction Specialist designs and operates pipelines that turn unstructured text, documents, and multimedia into structured, actionable data. Working remotely, you will collaborate with annotation teams and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality extraction solutions across multiple domains.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement extraction pipelines for legal, medical, financial, news, and technical documents.
• Create and manage high‑quality training datasets, including annotation guidelines and quality‑assurance processes.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall, and F1 metrics; analyse errors and iterate on models and data.
• Assess, integrate, and customise open‑source and commercial extraction tools and platforms.
• Develop scripts and automated workflows to streamline the extraction process.
• Adapt extraction systems quickly to new domains by acquiring domain knowledge and updating guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP, or computational linguistics.
• Strong problem‑solving ability with a track record of improving model performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with experience documenting complex guidelines.
• Proven experience designing annotation schemas for complex extraction tasks.
