Information Management Officer (Temporary) – Maputo

About the role

The Information Management Officer will support UNICEF Mozambique in identifying and mapping the most vulnerable children, especially those affected by emergencies. Working closely with programme sections, field offices and sector clusters, the officer will ensure data is collected, centralised and visualised to improve preparedness, targeting and coordination of development and humanitarian interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, centralise and analyse survey, routine and administrative data for vulnerability mapping.
• Produce GIS maps and dashboards to monitor situation and inform decision‑making.
• Support programme sections and clusters in data collection, validation and reporting across Health, Nutrition, WASH, Education, Child Protection and Social Protection.
• Assist in establishing a decentralized monitoring system and ensure performance data are integrated into UNICEF’s country‑wide information system.
• Provide capacity‑building and technical guidance to field staff and cluster partners on information management tools and processes.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in information management, geography, statistics or a related field.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably with UN agencies.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
