Layer 3 Security Coordinator

About the role

The Layer 3 Security Coordinator will lead security operations for a project in Pemba, Mozambique, focusing on border and convoy security, logistical movement, and support for socioeconomic activities. The role operates on a 28/28 rotation schedule under a 12‑month renewable contract.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor Protection Force personnel to ensure full implementation of VPSHR guidelines while maintaining high operational standards.
• Organise project logistical movements and contractor convoys in coordination with escorts and local authorities.
• Provide security support and up‑to‑date awareness for all socioeconomic and stabilization activities in Layer 3 areas.
• Report on security situations, threat escalations, and compliance with TEPMA1 security SOPs.
• Assess road security conditions in close contact with the security department and evaluate threat levels daily.
• Maintain liaison with local authorities, state security forces, private security firms, and project contractors.

Required profile

• Experienced security professional with in‑depth knowledge of Tanzanian border operations and regional security dynamics.
• Proven ability to work in remote, high‑risk environments and coordinate multi‑stakeholder activities.
• Strong understanding of HSE systems, Voluntary Principles of Security and Human Rights (VPSHR), and security SOPs.
• Fluent in English with excellent reporting and communication skills.
