Logistics Operations Officer – Trucking & Shunting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Officer to lead our trucking and shunting activities in Maputo. The role involves coordinating container transport from dispatch through to delivery, ensuring smooth operations across depots, terminals and client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily truck dispatch and route planning.
• Manage container transport, shunting, and depot operations.
• Track vehicle movements, identify and resolve operational delays.
• Oversee container documentation, including EIRs, PODs and transport records.
• Liaise with transporters, terminal operators, depots and clients.
• Ensure driver compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Produce daily operational and KPI reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience in container transport, freight forwarding or port logistics.
• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management or a related field.
• Proven experience managing truck fleets and shunting operations.
• Strong understanding of container logistics, EIRs, depot operations and shipping documentation.
• Excellent planning, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Portuguese and English is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS).
