Multi-Purpose Support Vessel Superintendent

About the role

The Multi-Purpose Support Vessel (MPSV) Superintendent leads all operational activities for subsea interventions on offshore oil & gas projects. Based offshore near Maputo, the role coordinates deck preparations, heavy lifting, vessel deployment and ensures safe, efficient execution of construction and installation tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sub‑sea interventions, deck preparations, heavy lifting and vessel deployment in collaboration with the Offshore Manager.
• Coordinate logistics, marine, ROV, survey, SPS technicians and other specialists.
• Manage onboard personnel, fostering team cohesion and clear role definition.
• Plan MPSV activities with EPCI, drilling and field operations teams.
• Maintain progress records, supply status and liaise daily with the Offshore Manager.
• Ensure compliance with safety directives, operational manuals and HSE policies.
• Approve installation, transportation, task and lift plans in consultation with all parties.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, documentation approval and certificate issuance.
• Prepare COMOPS/SIMOPS dossiers and validate invoices for contracted personnel and equipment.
• Report incidents, near‑misses and safety observations to the Safety Department.

Required profile

• Graduate in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (Project Engineer background).
• Proven experience in offshore vessel operations, subsea interventions or related oil & gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of ROV operations, heavy lifting procedures and marine logistics.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with on‑shore and offshore stakeholders.
• Excellent understanding of HSE regulations and contract compliance.
