National Health Emergency Consultant – Mozambique

About the role

The National Health Emergency Consultant will support UNICEF's Child Health and Nutrition section in Xai‑Xai, Mozambique, for a two‑month, office‑based assignment. Working under the Health Emergency Officer, the consultant will strengthen coordination and ensure compliance with emergency health standards.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen coordination mechanisms at provincial and district levels.
• Support emergency health supplies, logistics, and rehabilitation of health facilities.
• Monitor compliance with emergency health standards and produce regular reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public health and emergency health programmes.
• Proven experience coordinating government‑led emergency health responses in Mozambique.
• Fluency in Portuguese, both oral and written, with ability to produce high‑quality technical documents.
