National IT Consultant – Systems Analyst

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a National IT Consultant to support the analysis, design, testing and deployment of system enhancements, integrations, reports and digital solutions for its operations in Mozambique. This six‑month, office‑based consultancy will work closely with national authorities and UNICEF teams to ensure high‑quality, mission‑critical IT deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct requirements, functional and systems integration analysis for new and enhanced applications.
• Design data models, UML, BPMN and use‑case diagrams to support solution architecture.
• Perform testing, quality assurance and validation of system changes.
• Develop and deliver reports, dashboards and other digital outputs.
• Provide implementation, deployment support and documentation.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and stakeholder coordination.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Informatics, IT or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering at least one enterprise‑grade, mission‑critical information system with high availability and fault tolerance.
• Strong communication skills in Portuguese, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Java development and customization.
• Enterprise Architect or comparable modeling tool.
• Data modeling, UML, BPMN, use‑case and sequence diagram creation.
• Oracle or PostgreSQL database experience.
• Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall project management.
• OCUP 2 (OMG Certified UML Professional) certification.
• Microsoft, Oracle or AWS certifications in systems analysis and integration.
