Operations Director - Warehousing, Distribution and Logistics

About the role

DP World is looking for an experienced Operations Director to lead and optimise its warehousing, distribution and logistics operations across Mozambique. The role covers national warehousing, distribution, transport and inventory management, with a focus on operational excellence, cost control and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and implement operational strategies, frameworks and service delivery models that support organisational objectives.
• Lead and optimise national warehousing, distribution, transport and inventory management operations.
• Create a productive work environment and build a high-performing workforce aligned with organisational values.
• Analyse business performance, operational reporting and market insights to align strategy and objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement, productivity and cost optimisation across the supply chain and logistics network.
• Manage operational budgets and ensure cost control.
• Develop governance, risk management and compliance frameworks covering legal, regulatory, health, safety and quality standards.
• Drive customer, principal and stakeholder service levels, including OTIF delivery performance.
• Lead digital transformation and ensure effective use of ERP, WMS and other operational systems.
• Maintain strategic relationships with principals, customers, suppliers and service providers.
• Ensure business continuity, operational resilience and risk management.

Required profile

• Post-graduate diploma or professional registration (NQF Level 08).
• Up to 10 years of experience in a similar environment, with at least 8 years of business leadership or specialist experience.
• Experience conducting regular visits to warehouses, depots, distribution centres, customers and principal operations across Mozambique.
